Political: Why Vote For Kerry?

Preface: Sorry about the heavy political ranting. It'll be my last post regarding this election until after the election is over. It wears me out, honestly.

Here's an interesting comparison.

Not too long ago, John Eisenhower, son of former Republican president Dwight D. Eisenhower, wrote an essay titled "Why I will vote for John Kerry for President." In it, he spent over 400 words bashing President Bush and declaring why he will not vote for him, and a grand total of 40 words explaining why he would be voting for Senator Kerry. The title of the essay more appropriately should have been "Anyone But Bush, by the son of a famous former president."

Contrast that with Pat Buchanan's editorial, "Coming Home." In it, he discusses problems he has with both candidates, but the ultimate reasoning that brought him to support George Bush's re-election. Yes, he bashes John Kerry, but he also explains why he actually supports President Bush. Actual arguments in support of their favored candidate seem to be something sorely lacking from most people who support John Kerry. It's all about Bush. We hate Bush. It's all Bush's fault.

On a lighter note, I thought this was amusing and sad: John Kerry can't even tell the truth about a simple baseball game. Come on, John.
