LowLight of the Week: Let's be clear about something. The basic claim of this advertisement is absolutely false. The cell phone pictured is not being given away for free by Cingular. In fact, there are no cell phones that are being given away for free by Cingular. Now, if you want to sign away a year or two of your life in one of their life-bleeding "service" contracts, they'll gladly let you have one of those phones. But considering you'll be paying no less than $350, and more likely closer to $1,200 or more, that's hardly "free" now, is it? Congratulations to Cingular for being the first cell phone company to earn a spot as a LowLight in Project CRAP. (In case you didn't know, Skor doesn't like cell phone companies.)

Comments: Blah blah blah... Another week, another pile of stupid CRAP filling up Skor's mailbox. Verizon DSL made another valiant attempt to get noticed this week, but with all of the attention they've received here, it was time to draw the line. Can you hear me now, Verizon? You're going to have to try harder than that to get "featured" here again. In fact, it will probably take a singing, dancing, fireworks-shooting advertisement for Verizon to make another LowLight or Dishonorable Mention. Even the Post Office itself got in on the game this week, inundating Skor with an advertisement for buying stamps online. How sad.
