Monorail: Bzzt—Wrong Answer

die monorail, dieSurely by now, all you Seattle area residents have heard of the complete madness and waste that the monorail project has become. Promising one thing to get the votes, and "delivering" something else entirely is certainly nothing new, but the monorail was just a little too blatent about it.

Here's a headline in today's Seattle Times:
No painless solution to monorail crisis
The article spends roughly 1,300 words going on and on about the various options that the monorail project has now that their financing plan is in the toilet, and the project's top two shysters have axed themselves. Most of these options involve citizens paying more taxes. However, in all their many words, the Seattle Times writers fail to see the most obvious and most painless solution of all: Kill the Monorail. Drop that thing like a burning puppy. Stick a fork in it, it's done. Put it out of its misery—our misery.

Kill it? It's already a dead dog. But, in typical Seattle fashion, people are trying to feed it.
